The initial step was creating a slim extruded housing for easy installation in compact spaces. At a height of under 42mm, these lights can be placed in areas where traditional dual-row light bars cannot, all while significantly reducing the overall weight.
Although compact in size, these light bars do not lack power thanks to the high-intensity Lumileds LED chips and our U.S. PATENT PENDING total internal reflection (TIR) optic. The Stage Series has a significantly higher total intensity compared to standard light bars with basic optics or reflectors, which often lose light internally and to glare, resulting in light being spread in multiple directions. Our TIR optic collects and directs all of the light from the LED, minimizing glare and maximizing efficiency.
This TIR optic was designed with optical simulation modelling, to shape the output in a highly-functional beam pattern. Rather than a simple "spot" pattern, the Stage Series has a rectangular Driving pattern, far more useful for directing light downrange at high speeds. And instead of a standard "flood," the Wide option provides an extremely wide field of view, without wasting any light in the sky above. These light bars provide light where you want it, and don't shine where you don't.
When installed as a pair and properly aimed to meet your state's regulations, the Diode Dynamics - Stage Series 12" SAE/DOT Amber Light Bar features a Driving pattern that is compliant with SAE J581 as a Driving/Auxiliary High Beam Light and a Wide pattern that meets SAE J583 requirements for use as a Foglamp. Please ensure to check your local laws and regulations for accurate installation, aiming, and suitability.
All Stage Series LED lighting products use a standard Deutsch-style connector, and come with a 1-foot pigtail, with bare leads. You can wire yourself, or select an optional wire harness.
